Banned in the District collection pays homage to legendary punk band Bad Brains. Bad Brains was an all black hard-core punk band started in Washington DC in the late 70s. The name of the collection comes from thier song "Banned in DC", in which the band was blacklist from playing at most DC venues due to their destructive fan base.
